The Ocala Civic Theatre and the David and Lisa Midgett Foundation have partnered to introduce It’s Lit, a literacy initiative for high school and college students.

The new initiative will give students an opportunity to learn more about the playwright, the play and its history when they purchase a ticket to an OCT production. Participants will also receive a complimentary copy of a relevant book.

Invitations to follow-up activities and opportunities related to the play will also be offered to participating students. These activities may include private meet-and-greets with the actors, directors and designers; tours of the set, light booth and other learning opportunities with the creative team members.

The program will be kicked off with the Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Talley’s Folly” by Lanford Wilson. The play will run live on stage from Feb. 25 through March 21.

Any students interested in participating in It’s Lit should call the box office at 352-236-2274.
