The City of Ocala Engineering Department will begin a traffic signal removal along Magnolia Avenue through downtown Ocala.

Effective immediately, signals will flash red and all-way stop signs will be added to the following intersection approaches:

  • Fort King and South Magnolia – stop signs will be in place for southbound, eastbound and westbound traffic.
  • Broadway and South Magnolia – stop signs will be in place for southbound and eastbound traffic
  • NW/NE Third St. and North Magnolia – stop signs will be in place for southbound, eastbound, and westbound traffic
  • NE Third St. and NE First Ave. – stop signs will be in place for northbound, eastbound, and westbound traffic

These signals will stay in flash mode for 90 days.  After 90 days, the signals and traffic poles will be removed.  Basic stop sign control will remain for approaching motorists.  Message boards and necessary devices will be in place to notify drivers of the new traffic pattern.
