State money going to rural roads
Marion County isn't included.
Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday announced that $122 million will go to road resurfacing and reconstruction projects in rural areas.
The money is being spread to 30 counties, in part to help with evacuations and emergency preparedness and to improve safety, DeSantis said during an appearance at the Florida Department of Transportation’s Lake City district office.
Counties receiving money are Bradford, Calhoun, Citrus, Collier, Columbia, DeSoto, Flagler, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Holmes, Indian River, Jackson, Lafayette, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Martin, Monroe, Palm Beach, Putnam, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Union and Washington.
