OPD officer Wissinger, Jr. presented with service award for 25 years

Ocala Police Department (OPD) Officer Roger Wissinger, Jr. was presented with the 25 Years of Service Award at the Tuesday, April 19, city council regular meeting. 

Wissinger, Jr. started his career in Belleview in 1990. He has been on the SWAT team for 21 years and is currently a school resources officer. He has received several accommodations and letters recognizing his dedication to his work.

“When I was a field training officer, I told other new officers that you have to love the community that you work in. And I love Ocala very much,” Wissinger, Jr. said during the award presentation.
