Acting for the camera workshop at The Civic. [Submitted photo]
Learn to think of acting with the camera rather than for the camera, as the camera might be the most intimate scene partner an actor ever has. The relationship between the actor and the camera is critical. This class will hone on-camera acting skills, focusing on what works best for each actor. Students will work from a cold-read base and discuss text, space and lighting, according to the news release.
This class is for ages 16 and older. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 17 at The Civic. Materials will be provided. The instructor is Greg Thompson. Tuition is $75Â per person.
