City to host proposed parking garage information sessions

The City of Ocala will host two informational sessions about a proposed second downtown Ocala parking garage on Wednesday, Feb. 16. To read more on the city’s proposal, click here and here.

The first meeting will be at noon, with a second starting at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings are free and open to the public and will take place at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC), located at 15 S.E. Osceola Ave.

During the sessions, city staff will review the site selection methodology, including but not limited to: location, size, value, projected parking capacity, infrastructure impacts and proximity to future development sites.

Both sessions will present the same information. A virtual option is available for those unable to attend in person.

Comments received or postmarked by Tuesday, March 1, 2 p.m. will be included as part of that City Council meeting’s official record.
