The College of Central Florida has been chosen as one of 150 two-year colleges eligible to compete for a $1 million prize.

The recognition comes from the Aspen Institute, which acknowledged CF for high achievement and performance out of more than 1,000 institutions across the country. This marks the sixth time CF has made Aspen’s list of high-achieving colleges.

“Recognition by the Aspen Institute reflects the commitment by CF faculty and staff to our students and our belief in the power of education to transform lives and enrich our community,” said CF President Jim Henningsen. “We continue to focus on what is best for our students and are looking forward to providing the additional documentation to show that we are one of the best colleges in the nation.”

In April 2024, 25 semifinalists will be selected from the 150 colleges. The semi-finalists will be extensively reviewed and narrowed down to 10 finalists, with the winner being announced in Washington D.C. in the spring of 2025.
