The Florida Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing Wednesday to discuss plans for a new Interstate 75 interchange at Northwest 49th Street in Ocala.

FDOT engineers and planners have been evaluating various options for the new interchange, including extending Northwest 49th Street from Northwest 44th Avenue to Northwest 35th Avenue. Wednesday’s hearing is an opportunity to view the agency’s plans so far.

The hearing will be held at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, 2232 Northeast Jacksonville Road in Ocala. There will be a PowerPoint presentation, followed by a formal public comment period.

Those who wish to attend the hearing in person are being asked to register with FDOT Project Manager Amy L. Windom, P.E., by phone at 386-943-5074 or via email at amy.windom@dot.state.fl.us.

Those who do not want to attend in person may attend online by registering in advance at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/8139573940021629453. Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the hearing online, according to FDOT officials.
