The Ocala Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to our nation’s 250th birthday with an uplifting celebration of American music, patriotism and service.
The annual Red, White and OSO Blue performances at the Reilly Arts Center on June 27 and 28 will be led by Music Director and Conductor Matthew Wardell.
The Marion County Memorial Honor Guard will begin each performance with a presentation of the colors. The board of directors, officers and all members of the memorial honor guard are volunteers who generously give their time in support of local veterans and community ceremonies, the news release noted.
This year’s concerts are sponsored by Grace Dunlevy and Bob Levenson, and financial advisor Justin Yancey. Thanks to the generosity of Dunlevy and Levenson, the Reilly Arts Center will welcome more than 100 veterans and their guests as complimentary attendees for this special celebration, according to the release.
The program will feature the world premiere of “Revolutionary Triptych,” an orchestral work honoring three young patriots from the Revolutionary War, patriotic favorites and inspiring orchestral selections. The concert will conclude with a salute to veterans in recognition of their service and sacrifice.
The performances will take place at 3 p.m. June 27 and 28. The Reilly Arts Center is located at 500 NE 9th St., Ocala.
