Marion County Hospital District held a workshop on April 24 to discuss revisiting their pillar initiatives to include homelessness. The workshop was scheduled in response to Trustee, Richard Bianculli’s real estate offer which he hopes will lead to the opening of a low-barrier shelter- a potentially controversial topic for nearby residents.

The district had a deputy as a security detail at the workshop. Owners and employees of the nearby restaurant, Latinoymas, as well as representatives from multiple nonprofits, provided a record attendance for the hospital district meeting.

The meeting agenda was posted the day before the workshop: Pillar-Workshop-Agenda-v2.pdf (mchdt.org)
