Tornado watch issued for Marion

A tornado watch was issued for Marion County at 10:47 a.m. on Wednesday and will be in effect until 5 p.m., according to AlertMarion.

The watch includes 11 counties in northern Florida, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorological conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes, according to NWS.

The watch includes Marion County cities of Anthony, Ocala, Ocala Airport and Weirsdale.
