The Flamingo Motel is shown in this postcard from the 1960s. Silver Springs Boulevard was once lined with motels catering to the tourists that crowded Silver Springs.
The Flamingo Motel is shown on Aug. 16. The motel is one of a handful still remaining from the time before the opening of Walt Disney World in Orlando drew most of the tourists away. [Bruce Ackerman/Ocala Gazette] 2021.
