The SW 66th Street bridge over Interstate 75 (I-75) in Marion County was fully reopened Friday, March 31, with traffic moving in both directions, following completion of repairs to the bridge.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) noted in a press release that the agency does not anticipate the need for any additional lane closures on the SW 66th Street bridge or I-75 at this time, however, brief lane closures on the bridge may be required for further maintenance within the next couple of weeks.

The bridge was damaged in February when a tractor-trailer traveling northbound on I-75 with an over-dimension load struck and damaged the overpass near the 347-mile marker on Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
