SunTran announces free bus fares on Saturdays, adjusted hours during the holiday season

On Nov. 18, SunTran announced via press release that it will be offering complimentary bus fares on Saturdays on all bus routes during the month of November and December, starting on Saturday, Nov. 27.

Regular fares will resume on Monday, Dec. 20.

Free fares will only be in effect on the following dates:

  • Saturday, Nov. 27
  • Saturday, Dec. 4
  • Saturday, Dec. 11
  • Saturday, Dec. 18

Additionally, SunTran will have reduced hours on the following days:

  • Friday, Dec. 24, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 31, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day, SunTran will be closed for operations Saturday, Dec. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 1.

“Developed to help citizens utilize the public transportation system during the holiday season, the complimentary fares provide a cost savings to citizens and show riders they are appreciated,” said Steven Neal, SunTran transportation manager, in the press release. “We would like to provide a little bit of economic relief during the holiday season, while also encouraging residents to experience our public transportation system.”
