SOCIAL SCENE: “An Enchanted Evening in Paris” Cotillion
The Howard Academy Community Center is part of Marion County Public Schools. The mission of the center is to meet the needs of the Ocala Westside community and Marion County through specialized learning activities and programs designed to “positively enrich student lives and impact community development.”
One of the center’s mentoring programs is Dare 2 B Great. Since December 2022, groups of middle school girls have gathered annually to learn life skills and participate in a variety of activities.
On Aug. 17, the most recent group of participants were honored with “An Enchanted Evening in Paris” Cotillion at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place.
The event included refreshments and entertainment, and many attendees offering the young ladies well wishes for the future.
