No injuries were reported when a semi-trailer rollover on Pine Avenue (U.S. Highway 441) at Silver Springs Boulevard (State Road 40 ) on Tuesday afternoon.

Ocala Fire Rescue responded to the single-vehicle crash that occurred around 5:39 p.m., according to OFR Public Information Officer Ashley Lopez.

Lopez stated three OFR units and a battalion chief responded to the scene, and “passersby had assisted the [semi-trailer] driver in exiting the vehicle,” and “no injuries were reported.”

Ocala Police Department Lt. Jeff Hurst said the semi-trailer, which was hauling furniture, was traveling eastbound on SR 40 and attempted to turn left to travel north on Pine Avenue when the mishap occurred.

Northbound traffic on Pine Avenue was halted for at least two hours as a wrecker cleared the scene.

A cause for the crash was not immediately released. OFR, OPD and Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the accident.
