Save the date—the ribbon cutting for the College of Central Florida’s state-of-the-art nursing center is scheduled for the end of January.

The event is planned for January 30 at 10:30 at the facility, which has been officially named the AdventHealth Center for Nursing. It is located on the CF Ocala Campus at 3001 S.W. College Rd.

The building will welcome students even sooner, when classes begin for the spring semester on Jan. 8. It will house about 300 students, across six classrooms, three skills labs, six simulation rooms and a testing lab.

The 42,000 square-foot building is two stories tall and cost about $20 million to build.

The facility bears the name of AdventHealth in recognition of the $3 million donation from AdventHealth Ocala to the CF Foundation.

Part of the funding came Marion County, which allocated $2 million coming from ARPA funds, emergency funding intended to ease economic distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
