A few people from groups such as the National Organization for Women – Marion County and Ocala Demands Action took part in a protest on Jan. 20 at the intersection of Pine Avenue and East Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala.

They were there to advocate for abortion rights ahead of the 51st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade legal decision on Jan. 22, 1973, in which the U.S. Supreme Court effectively legalized the procedure in the United States. The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022.
