The First Friday Art Walk in Ocala is an arts event that celebrates the city’s downtown area on the first Friday of every month starting in September and concluding in May of each year. The 2024-2025 season is just around the corner, and artists are invited to apply to participate.
The First Friday Art Walk Steering Committee is currently accepting applications for the upcoming season. The committee reviews applications from participating artists, arts organizations, downtown businesses, and business sponsorships. The 2024-2025 season begins Sept. 6, 2024, and concludes May 2, 2025.
Each year, more than 30 artists and 10 art organizations participate in the First Friday Art Walk. Each participating artist is paired with a downtown business located along Ocala’s Historic Downtown Square to create original artwork for the event.
To apply, you must submit an application short by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 1. The application is available on the City of Ocala’s website, ocalafl.gov/artwalk. For more information, contact the City of Ocala Cultural Arts Division at 352-629-8447 or [email protected].
