(OCALA, FL.) September 18, 2024 Ocala Fire Rescue will be conducting a training burn on Friday, September 20, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Ocala International Airport, 1770 SW 60th Ave.

The exercise – a live fire burn – will simulate an aircraft emergency on airport grounds. The burn will include real-life scenarios that airport personnel and emergency responders could encounter, to optimize their preparedness for such incidents.

Smoke and flames may be visible while the training burn is conducted.

We ask residents and businesses in the vicinity to not be alarmed as this scheduled training will be conducted under strict safety protocols and poses no threat to the public nor surrounding areas.
