Ocala natives Vincent and Katy Alexander appeared on the NBC game show “The Wall” on Jan. 12. The show is hosted by Emmy Award winner Chris Hardwick,
In an emotional and high-stakes episode, Vincent, a firefighter and paramedic, and Katy, an occupational therapist, competed for a chance to win up to $12 million, the news release stated.
Both U.S. Navy veterans, they met during deployment and have been married for more than nine years. After years of struggling to start a family, their lives changed on Jan. 1, 2023, when Vincent responded to Florida’s first Safe Haven baby box and discovered a newborn baby girl. Vincent and Katy soon adopted Zoey, completing the family they had always dreamed of, according to the release.
“Their game was full of dramatic highs and lows, with over half a million dollars on the board at one point, but the ‘Wall’ proved tough and Vincent ended with $0. Thanks to Katy’s smart decision to sign the contract, the couple walked away with a prize of $195,302, celebrating an incredible story of love, resilience and trust,” the news release noted.
Their episode is now streaming on Peacock.
The host is heard telling them in a YouTube video, “I love your story. America loves your story.”
