Oakcrest Elementary leaders announce Marion County’s 2022 Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year

On Nov. 29, Oakcrest Elementary School announced that Christine Sandy and Sarah Dobbs were chosen as Marion County’s 2022 Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year, respectively.

Sandy has over 50 years of experience as an educator, with 2022 marking her 40th anniversary with Marion County Public Schools (MCPS). Dobbs, a homegrown graduate from Madison Street Academy, Fort McCoy Middle School and Vanguard High School, became assistant principal at Oakcrest in 2019.

Both educators advance to the state competition, where the Florida Department of Education will select Florida’s 2022 Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year.
