Marion County student named a Presidential Scholar by US Department of Education

Esperance J. Han, a student at North Marion High School has been named a Presidential Scholar by the US Department of Education.
According to a media release issued by Marion County Public School District Han is one of only six students in Florida, and one of 161 in the nation to receive the prestigious award which was based on her outstanding academic performance, as well as her contributions to the arts, career, and technical education fields.
This is the 60th year for the Presidential Scholars program, which selects students annually based on their academic excellence, involvement in the arts, and demonstrated commitment to community service and leadership.
The Presidential Scholars Class of 2024 will be recognized this summer, and will receive an online recognition program.
In addition to the academic achievement which qualifies Han as a Presidential Scholar, she has also been awarded the Quest Bridge scholarship, which will allow her to attend Yale University on a full-ride scholarship.
