Deputies responding to a report of shots fired at a southeast Marion County residence on Saturday night found two people deceased from gunshot wounds, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

MCSO Public Information Officer Zach Moore indicated at the scene, in the 14200 block of Southeast 30th Terrace, that the incident appeared “isolated” and said no one was at large.

Moore stated that murder/suicide has “not been ruled out” and said the Major Crimes Division was investigating.

Moore said the names of the deceased were not being released as the next of kin had not yet been identified.

A man near the scene said he was an adjacent homeowner, but he did not know the couple and another man standing in a nearby yard said it’s normally a quiet neighborhood.

The scene is a few miles southeast of Belleview, just south of County Road 484, and has a Belleview address.
