Local Special Olympics athlete aims to compete in Slovakia

Special Olympics Florida – Northeast Region has announced that Marion County athlete leader Zachary Deonath has earned a spot at the Challenge Samorin Championship Sprint Triathlon in Slovakia on May 18 and 19.

Deonath is among three athletes to represent Florida. The competition includes categories of professional, individual and relay (male, female, mixed).

“To make Zach’s journey to Slovakia possible, we are on the lookout for sponsors. Zach is also doing his own fundraising with a goal of $4,000,” noted the news release.
