The watch will be in effect until 3 p.m. Thursday.

A tornado warning was formerly in effect for central Marion County, including Ocala and Anthony, from 2:58 a.m. until 3:45 a.m. Thursday, according to AlertMarion.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, no tornadoes have yet touched down in the area over the past 24 hours, according to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration spokesperson Scott Cordero.

All Marion County Public Schools have remained open despite inclement weather overnight Wednesday and through Thursday morning, according to MCPS spokesperson Kevin Christian.
