Juliana Henningsen, 14, creator of the book, “Shop Pets of Ocala,” presented the Humane Society of Marion County with a check for $5,000 on Nov. 13.

The money came from sales of Henningsen’s book, a collection of photographs and stories of local dogs and cats that go to work with their owners, which she created to raise money for local pet shops.

Dr. Dion Osborne of Ocala Veterinary Hospital and Dick Andrews of Red Fern Pet Lodge were also on hand to present the check.

Although the majority of the books have been sold there are still some left. To purchase a copy, visit www.facebook.com/shoppetsofocala.
