GospelFest Easter Celebration
The Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala will host its second annual GospelFest on Saturday, March 30, from noon to 5 p.m.
The outdoor event will feature live musical performances, games and activities for children, and southern style food.
Mount Cavalry is one of the oldest churches in Ocala. First opening its doors 177 years ago in 1847, the church has been a long-standing staple of the town’s Christian community. But GospelFest is a brand-new event, in just its second year, designed to create a celebration during the Easter weekend.
The event is free to attend and open to the public. All attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an open mic to share their own personal testimonies or sing along to the gospel music.
Weather is expected to be perfect, mid-70s and sunny, for an afternoon get together. The church has encouraged attendees to bring their own chairs, tents, and refreshments.
