Fatal accident on NW Highway 225A
One person was killed when a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck hit a tree and rolled over in a ditch on NW Highway 225A

A 59-year-old Dunnellon man died Thursday as the result of a single vehicle crash in northwest Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol has reported.
The crash occurred on County Road 225A by Northwest 110th Street about 6:24 p.m., according to an FHP press release.
The press release stated that the man, who was driving a pickup truck north on CR 225A, began to negotiate a left curve in the roadway…traveled off the roadway and onto the right grass shoulder. The pickup crossed a private driveway and struck an electrical box, tree branches and a tree, the press release stated.
The collision with the tree caused the pickup to overturn and the victim was partially ejected. The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased on the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue, according to the press release.
The FHP Crash Dashboard at flhsmv.gov states that from Jan. 1 to Sept. 4, 2025, preliminary information indicates 51 people have died in traffic crashes in Marion County.
