Arthur Appleton purchased the bronze elephants as a gift to the museum when the museum was being built and they were installed in the fountain before the museum opened in 1987. Artist Khien Wimsiri of Thailand created the statues. The three statues were installed as the museum was being constructed, however, it is not known exactly where Appleton got the small bronze elephants. [Bruce Ackerman/Ocala Gazette] 2025.
