At approximately 5 am this morning, Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) reports it was alerted to a collision on southbound I-75, roughly one mile from the Hernando and Dunnellon Exit 350.

According to a press release issued by OFR later in the afternoon, when OFR units arrived on the scene they found two semi-tractor trailers and three passenger vehicles blocking all lanes of I-75.

One of the semi-tractor trailers had jackknifed.

The OFR report indicated that there were no entrapments and that only one person, “driving a red car” was transported to the hospital with injuries.

Names of those involved in the crash were not released, however, Lieutenant P.V. Riordan with the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that one driver involved in the crash was a male from Ocala, and the other drivers from Crawfordville, another Tampa, another Tallahassee.

Riordan says that one driver involved in the crash left the scene.
