Dunnellon gallery offers variety of events
The activities range from an artist talk to a community art show to an anniversary celebration.

Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon gallery is stepping into spring with an array of community events, including a talk about conservation photography; an anniversary party; a community art show, “The Year of the Horse”; and a reception for new artists and scholarship winners.
• Nature photographer Linda Wilinski will speak about “Conservation Photography: A Visual Journey,” at 6:30 p.m. on April 17. The talk has been rescheduled from its original January date. Wilinski advocates for ethical wildlife photography and otter protection. A $10 donation is suggested.
• Area artists are invited to participate in “The Year of the Horse” community art show, which will run from May 2-June 10. Art drop-off is April 29-30 and the participation fee is $20 for one piece and $30 for two pieces. Art may be up to 18 inches by 24 inches and should have a horse theme. The community is invited to an opening reception for the show on May 2 from noon to 2 p.m.
• Plans are underway for the gallery on May 2-3 to celebrate its first anniversary at its new location, 20826 Walnut St.
• On June 17, new gallery artists and new high school graduate scholarship winners will be toasted at a reception, starting at 5 p.m. The event is one of the After-Hours events the gallery hosts with the Dunnellon Chamber and Business Association.
The gallery also hosts such recurring monthly events as an Open Studio for area artists from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, gallery nights on the third Friday of the month from 5 to 7 p.m. and meetings of the Dunnellon Poetry Society on the third Sunday of the month from 2 to 4 p.m.
The gallery also participates in the Historic Dunnellon Village Market on the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays and Mondays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
