Double shooting in Ocala leaves two adults injured

Two adults were injured after a shooting at Parkside Gardens Apartments on Sunday, officials said [Jennifer Hunt Murty/OcalaGazette] 2023.

The Ocala Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at Parkside Garden Apartments, leaving one man and one woman injured Sunday night.

Police responded to 621 NW 2^nd St. at 9:20 p.m., and officials say shots were fired through a front door multiple times, injuring two adults inside, according to the OPD Public Information Office.

“One victim had a tourniquet applied by police officers. Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” according to OPD.

No suspects or victims have yet been identified. OPD detectives are currently investigating the incident.

This is not the first shooting that has occurred at the apartment complex—notably, two teenagers were shot in the same neighborhood in June of 2021, both of whose injuries were non-life threatening.
