Marion County’s new Silver Springs archery range was unveiled at 5227 NE 35th St. on Friday.

The facility offers a vast selection of ranges and targets to accommodate a wide variety of shooting disciplines and skill levels.

The range utilizes three-dimensional (3D) targets with lifelike foam animals placed in woodland settings to stimulate hunting environments. The range has two complete 3D ranges each with 15 targets as well as a year-round practice range that has an additional 15 targets.

The range also features a four-target, Olympic-style range with targets set between 20 and 100 yards, with additional targets to accommodate speed bow and crossbow shooting.

This facility will be operated in partnership with the Silver Springs Archery Club, a community organization that offers tournaments, events and educational experiences. Event organizers hope the facility will provide a “winter home” and a tournament destination for archery enthusiasts nationwide.
