Kathy Bryant, who has represented District 2 on the Marion County Commission since 2010, said she will not file for a fifth term when her current one ends in 2026.

“I will have served 16 years as a county commissioner and by then accomplished the bulk of what I set out to do. It’s now time to pass the baton,” Bryant said.

Bryant was first elected in 2010 and is serving her fourth four-year term. Commissioners in Florida have no term limits.

“I love public service and I won’t rule out other opportunities to serve in the future,” she added.
