Yellow-rumped warbler
Known affectionately as “Butter Butt,” the yellow-rumped warbler begins to appear in Marion County in late October. This one was sallying at a backyard suet feeder, hovering almost like a hummingbird but more frantically. These birds breed in Canada and Alaska and spend the winter as far south as Panama.
