White ibis

One of our most common wading birds, the white ibis congregates in ponds and marshes throughout Florida, where it forages for crustaceans, small fish, and insects. Like several other white birds, the white ibis has black wing tips. The melanin that gives the wing tips their black color also makes them stronger and more resistant to wear and tear.
