Lots of people dislike the brown-headed cowbird because of the way it raises its family. It lays its eggs in the nests of other birds and leaves the work to them. More than 140 bird species are known to have raised cowbirds, often crowding out their own young in the process. It gets its name from its habit of following cows to eat the bugs in their wake.
