Arrest made in connection to Dec. 25 homicide

The Ocala Police Department has announced an arrest in the Christmas Day homicide of a 21-year-old man in northwest Ocala.

Curnelius A. Brown Jr. ,19, was arrested Dec. 30 by OPD Det. Quintero and charged with second-degree murder with a firearm in connection with the death of Ja’Narre Suggs, according to a post on the OPD Facebook page.

Brown also was charged with possession of a machine gun and possession of a firearm by a delinquent, according to the post.

OPD is still actively investigating the homicide, which occurred in the 800 block of West Silver Springs Place.
