A Marion County Fire Rescue ambulance caught fire while being taken for a test drive near Forest High School on Wednesday, according to MCFR.

At 2 p.m., MCFR received reports of one of their own ambulances on fire and units were dispatched to the scene at 4762 SE Maricamp Rd., said MCFR spokesperson James Lucas via email.

Two engines arrived on the scene about one minute later. MCFR had the fire under control by 2:06 p.m., Lucas said.

“The cause of the fire and extent of the damage is being investigated,” he said.

No injuries were reported.
