US Navy to bomb in the Ocala National Forest on June 2, 3 and 4

US Navy training schedules indicate that inert bombing will take place at the Pinecastle Range Complex in the Ocala National Forest, on:

June 2, from 9:15 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4:15-6 p.m.
June 3, from 10:15 a.m.-Noon and 3:15-5 p.m.
June 4, from 9:15 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4:15-6 p.m.

The news release from the Naval Air Station Jacksonville Public Affairs Office notes that during bombing periods, wildlife may be temporarily displaced.

“Use extra caution when driving through the Ocala National Forest and surrounding areas. Secure any items around your residence that could attract wildlife. Always be mindful of larger animals including black bears and practice bear-wise measures, which can be found at myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/managed/bear/wise/neighborhood,” the release noted.
