Traffic Update: State Road 19 reopens in Marion County

The Florida Department of Transportation on Tuesday afternoon issue a news alert that State Road 19 has been reopened.

“State Road 19 is now open between County Road 314 and State Road 40,” it stated.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Motorists are advised of a road closure along State Road 19 from County Road 314 to State Road 40 in Marion County due to a wildfire northwest of Astor Park and south of Salt Springs.

The Florida Department of Transportation news release states that those who live along SR 19 between CR 314 and Forest Road 86 (local traffic) can access SR 19 at the north end at CR 314. No traffic is permitted along SR 19 between SR 40 and Forest Road 86.

The following detours will be in place:

  • Motorists wishing to head northbound along SR. 19 will be directed to turn left (west) onto SR 40, turn right onto CR 314A, and turn right onto Salt Springs Highway (CR 314) before reaching SR 19.
  • Motorists wishing to head southbound along SR 19 will be directed to turn right (west) onto Salt Springs Highway (CR 314), turn left onto CR 314A, and turn left onto SR 40 before reaching SR 19.

Motorists are asked to drive safe, stay alert, and follow the detours in place, the release noted.
