First Friday Art Walk rings in New Year on Jan. 7

Running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the First Friday Art Walk will take place in Downtown Ocala this Friday on Jan. 7. It will continue to occur the first Friday of each month until May of 2022.

The following activities will be included in January’s schedule of events:

  • Hands-on art activities and demonstrations for all ages, provided by local non-profit arts and cultural organizations.
  • Local artists selling their works throughout downtown.
  • Extended shopping hours at participating businesses.
  • Buskers stationed throughout the downtown area, including My Uncle’s Friend, The Aliens and Leah Oxendine, playing ambient music.
  • Live musical performances on the Downtown Square, featuring Fareeza.
