Roberta Perez has been chosen as the new public relations and communications director for the Marion County Board of County Commissioners office.

Prior to becoming director, Perez was talent manager for the board’s human resources department. She has served in that position since 2016.

According to a county release, two rounds of interviews were conducted with the most qualified candidates. The process ended on May 28, at which time Perez was selected as director.

Perez has served as a board member of Partners in Education, Training and Support (P.E.T.S) for the Marion County Animal Services Center.

She is also a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and the Association of Talent Development.

Perez was given high praise by the board during her introduction on July 6.

“I want to bring a positive difference to Marion County,” Perez said.

Perez takes the role formerly occupied by Kelli Fuqua Hart who resigned in March.
