Splish splash

Hot summer days are perfect for playing in water features around Marion County.

Ocala/Marion County may be land locked, but there are several options for cooling off in the summer in local splash pads and aquatic fun centers.

The city of Ocala offers two splash pads:

  • Lily’s Splash Pad, 2200 NW 17th Place, at the Lillian Bryant Community Center
  • Citizens’ Circle Splash Pad, at 151 SE Osceola Ave., in downtown Ocala

The pads are open from sunrise to sunset and are free and open to the public.

The city of Belleview offers one splash pad:

  • The Wilma Loar Splash Park is located at 5615 SE 110th St., Belleview. The park includes picnic tables and restrooms. All facilities are open to the public. The park does not take reservations for private parties.

The city of Ocala has two Aquatic FUN Centers:

  • Hampton, at 255 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
  • Jervey Gantt, at 2390 SE 36 Ave.

Each facility has spray features, a waterfall and water slides. Each pool has a zero-inch depth entry for easy access with a maximum depth of 5 1/2 feet and are ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. Outside coolers, drinks or food are not permitted. Concessions are available. For safety, conditions may require closing during normal operating hours.
