Get ready to step into history because this is not our typical end-of-term event. Master the Possibilities is bringing America’s past to life in a vibrant, patriotic grand finale you won’t want to miss.
On June 17, starting at 1 p.m. at the Circle Square Cultural Center, MTP will conclude its Exploring 250 Years of America term with a dynamic celebration that captures the spirit, resilience and diversity of our nation’s journey. This special event represents the culmination of months of learning and discovery, all wrapped into one unforgettable afternoon of presentations, performances and community connection.
The program will open with a moving and traditional ceremony, including the presentation of colors by the honor guard, the pledge of allegiance and stirring musical performances by the OTOW Chorus. Throughout the event, attendees will be taken on a journey through history with engaging presentations that highlight defining moments in America’s story.
From a portrayal of Martha Washington to reflections on the Civil War, a reading of the Gettysburg Address and tributes to the courage and unity that have shaped our country, each segment brings history to life in a meaningful way.
What truly sets this event apart is its immersive experience. Historical figures from various time periods will be in attendance, allowing participants to interact with and even take photos alongside some of America’s most iconic personalities. Imagine meeting Deborah Sampson or snapping a picture with Uncle Sam. It’s a fun and memorable way to connect with the past.
The grand finale also will showcase the incredible talent within the MTP community. Guests will enjoy performances such as a lively Yankee Doodle Dandy dance number by Penny Berton and the Broadway Dance class, energetic patriotic routines and Americana piano music. The program includes heartfelt moments of reflection, honoring events such as 9/11 and celebrating influential leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr.
Following the presentation, the celebration will continue with a festive social featuring “Tastes of America.” Guests will enjoy a wide variety of classic foods that reflect our nation’s culinary traditions. From hot dogs, sliders and chili to cornbread, hand pies, Cracker Jacks and ice cream, it will be a delicious journey through history that everyone can enjoy.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in red, white and blue or represent their favorite era in American history, adding to the fun and festive atmosphere. Join us as we celebrate 250 years of history, and the community that keeps that story alive.
The cost to attend is $25 per person, which includes the program and food. Registration is available 24/7 at masterthepossibilities.org or by calling the MTP office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at (352) 861-9751.
