Overnight I-75 ramp closures at SR 40 and US 27 to start May 11

Motorists are advised that the northbound Interstate 75 on ramp from State Road 40 will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, May 11, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, for milling and resurfacing

Additionally, the northbound I-75 off ramp to US 27 will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, for milling and resurfacing.

Per the Florida Department of Transportation, these detours will be in effect:

  • Motorists traveling on S.R. 40 who wish to access I-75 should proceed east on S.R. 40, turn north on Northwest 27th Avenue, then turn left on U.S. 27 and proceed west to the U.S. 27 on ramp at I-75.
  • Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 who wish to access U.S. 27 will be directed to instead exit at S.R. 40 (Exit 352), proceed east on S.R. 40, then turn left on Northwest 27th Avenue to U.S. 27.

This work is part of the Moving I-75 Forward project, which covers more than 30 miles between SR 44 in Sumter County and SR 326 in Marion County. Improvements include the addition of an auxiliary lane in both directions, multiple bridge replacements and interchange enhancements.

Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. FDOT advises motorists to reduce speed, follow posted signage and exercise extra caution while traveling through the work zone, the news release noted.
