Photographer Rachelle Vance creates images using the impact of light, the magic of action and her camera as the tool, according to the Friends of Silver Springs State Park, who are hosting an exhibit of her works through early March.

“Her love of nature and wildlife means spending hours in the field on her belly, riding her bike with her gear in tow, paddling her kayak against the current and sometimes shooting from her driver’s seat on cold and rainy days,” the news release stated.

On Jan. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m., the Friends are hosting a meet and greet event with Vance in the Friends Welcome Center at the state park. The center is located inside the first store front across from the famous glass-bottom boats.

The event is free to attend and light refreshments will be served. There is a $2 per person park admission fee.

Vance is offering a special sale rate for the prints in the exhibit, the release noted.

The Friends of Silver Springs State Park is one of many citizen support organizations chartered by the State of Florida to provide independent support. The local group was founded in 2005 and has since grown to include more than 150 members.
