Ocala’s very own “Miss Florida” winner could soon take the national title, as the winner of this year’s “Miss America” competition will be crowned on Jan. 5.
Casana Fink, an Ocala native, advanced to the “Miss America” competition after taking the title of “Miss Florida” in August. Fink, 26, has been competing in pageants since the age of 13.
The competition began on Dec. 31 and will culminate on Jan. 5 with the finals and coronation ceremony. In a preliminary event, Fink was awarded as a Gown Winner, earning a $3,000 scholarship from the Sherri Hill clothing company.
“I dedicated this performance to the organ donor who saved my dad’s life and to all the donors who selflessly give others a second chance by giving life,” Fink wrote on Instagram.
She is the CEO of the “More Transplants More Life” organization in Tampa, and a longtime advocate for organ donation, in honor of her father whose life was saved by organ donation.
Fink graduated from Forest High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida. She is currently working toward her master’s degree in business administration at UF.
“The new 2025 Miss America wins the opportunity to travel America as the brand ambassador and will be awarded $50,000 in tuition scholarship,” according to the “Miss America” organization.
This year, 52 women are competing for the title—one from every state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. It is open to competitors aged 18 to 28.
The finals will be held at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, and streamed live on YouTube and at PageantVision.com
