Marion County Public Schools announces summer feeding program for students 18 years old and younger living in Marion County, which includes free breakfast and lunch.

“For many students, meals at school during the regular school year are the most nutritious meals they eat. Sometimes, those meals are the only meals students eat,” said Marion County Public Schools in a press release.

Officials say the program is funded by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and will serve over 150,000 meals at 43 schools and 14 off-site/satellite locations throughout Ocala and Marion County.

“The program continues through summer school terms which end June 27 or July 18 depending on location. All sites will also close July 4 with some dates and times varying based on location,” they said.
